Yankee Candles

Friday, December 11th, 2009

After our bacon cob ventures at the Banks Mill Open Studios, we had become aware of a certain smell that remained in the office, especially when we arrive in the morning. The smell wasn’t going away very fast, and a solution needed to be found.

Fortunately Pete knew the answer… Yankee Candle! I’ve never heard of them, but they have a shop in Derby and Pete told us they may some really cool scented candles which would fill the room with fresh aroma. So we went to the shop and got the Gingerbread flavour, and now the office smells of freshly baked Gingerbread. Genius!

I’m going to get some for my house, and just thinking about it, it’s a great christmas present! Check out www.yankeecandle.co.uk

ID Computing Brochure

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

2 weeks ago, Ian Duffy from ID Computing came into our office. He was looking for a brochure as he’d never had one before. He was going to a conference and wanted some to take with him in order to showcase the work he does and the project he wants to raise awareness of. We were able to work with Ian on the content, design and get the brochure printed in time for his conference. If you have an event coming up and are looking for promotional material to take with you to give away to the people you meet, please feel free to speak to us, even if you’ve left it a little late!

The start of a new adventure

Friday, August 15th, 2008

We’ve recently joined the BNI which is this referrals organisation that has been running for over 20 years. Basically it’s all about getting to know other business people over some crap food and then recommending them to your friends.

Anyway it was launch day today so the thing starts proper next week. I’m supposed to think of something interesting to say about graphic design for each meeting and I was thinking I’d probably blog them on here cause other people might find them useful. Get ready for some words of wisdom people! :)

An American self portrait

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

I’ve been looking at some really interesting photographic artworks on chrisjordan.com. In his series called ‘Running the numbers’ Chris illustrates some startling statistics related to American consumption. One image is a depiction of 2 million plastic bottles, apparently the number used every 5 minutes in the USA.
